About
ESYL

ESYL’s mission is to make creativity an accessible daily practice for calm, wellbeing and mindful living

About us logo

We created ESYL to make creativity feel simple, enjoyable and accessible in everyday life. Our goal is to provide a no-pressure environment where people can relax, reset and engage in short guided activities that support both well-being and personal growth. Unlike traditional wellbeing apps, ESYL combines calm with skill development. Helping users build creativity, focus and problem-solving in a fun and approachable way. ESYL is not an art class or art therapy platform; it sits in the perfect space between wellbeing, creativity and modern lifestyle engagement, with experiences that extend beyond the app through workshops, partnerships and community-led initiatives.

TARAN MATHUR

Growing up in London, creativity was always a big part of Taran’s life. From painting as a child to becoming a professional artist, he also found joy in writing, music and public speaking. Creativity became more than an interest. It was a way to navigate difficult emotions, quiet the noise and find moments of calm.

His journey was one of trial and error, curiosity and vulnerability. By creating without worrying about judgement or whether something was “good,” Taran discovered the value of the process itself. When emotions were difficult to put into words, creativity gave him another way to express them.

His career later took him across education, entrepreneurship and the corporate world, including working in New York. Experiencing the pressure of fast-paced professional environments made him increasingly aware of how little everyday support people can have for managing stress and wellbeing. Across different industries, he felt there was an opportunity for organisations to provide more meaningful care for the people behind the work.

Alongside this, Taran has spent years working with children and young people, leading after-school programmes and sharing his experiences as a guest lecturer. Social impact has also remained central to his journey, using art and creative projects to support charities and communities in the UK and internationally.

These experiences ultimately came together to shape ESYL. Taran founded the platform around a simple belief: the benefits of creativity shouldn’t be limited to artists.

ESYL makes creativity accessible through short, guided experiences designed to help people slow down, express themselves, think differently and build creative confidence without judgement, pressure or the need to be “good” at art.
